Silence. Will was watching her, monitoring every movement. If she didn't know any better, REL would say it reminded her of a cornered animal.
Her? Corner Will? Surely not!
A sigh, "I was not scared, I did not run away."
He was terrified. Terrified of being unloved again. Terrified that he'd lost the one person that genuinely wanted to help him with his problems. Far too scared to admit that he needed someone like Chaplin to look after him. Because on the inside, he'd never grown past that earth shattering moment.
"And they're antidepressants. I thought that obvious."
REL was such a stupid woman.
He rattled the pills.

"Oh, bullshit, Will. Stop fucking lying to me."
"I don't see why you insist on trying to convince me I don't know my own medicatio--"
"No, you pussy. You had your bloody tail tucked between your legs. And don't for one second act like I don't see through the lie." She leaned back, against the wall, wonddering if this is how a proper hobo felt. "Your poker face fools the majority of the the planet, maybe even Chaplin, but not me."
There was silence, maybe even the offspring of a sigh of some sort. Will rattled his pill bottle again, causing REL's eye to twitch. He was having a type of kindred conversation with them or something, buying time. The pause would strengthen his next statement, and was intended to gather her full attention, but REL spoke first.
"So, do you love him?" Didn't miss a beat, REL meant it when she said 'cut the bullshit.'

Another long break in conversation. He twisted the bottle in his hands, the plastic forming a barrier to keep him from wringing the skin off his hands.
Honestly? He didn't know. He wanted to say yes to such a wonderful, beautiful idea. If Chaplin were to run up to him right now, confess to being a moron and that he would love him forever, the boy would probably cry.
Once he was released from the hospital, he hid away from Chaplin. Not because he felt any resentment towards the boy, but he felt so guilty. Death terrified him so much, he couldn't imagine doing that someone he...
loved.
So he ran away. He needed to figure things out, and he needed to find his sister. Everything about Bullworth was becoming so distracting, he was beginning to lose sight of his goals. Instead of being caught up in all of his hatred, he waited eagerly(although he never showed it) for Chaplin to get out of practice. He stopped watching the little details all around, but he focused more on all of Chaplin's habits. There probably wasn't anything he couldn't tell you about him.
But that was then and this is now.
Things were different, he couldn't predict this new Chaplin, couldn't figure him out. It hurt.
This wasn't the man he loved.
"Does it matter?"

"Oh, I don't know, Will. Who are you asking? Me? What good does it do me to know anyway, honestly, it's none of my business." Crossed one leg over the other. "Are you asking yourself? You don't have much of a tone of voice to measure, but I'll wager you'd rather not know. "
Finally, she stood up. REL was proud of her place in this situation, and a smile crept upon her lips. She could assemble as much, her weight in the swaying of another's opinion.
"You could be asking Chaplin this. The way he said your name after you took off running... You're right, it's a question you should be asking him." She took a step. "Hmm, hmm. So does it matter?"

"... No. No, it doesn't."
With that, Will stood up and walked down the alley.
It didn't matter how Will felt, he wasn't sure it ever did. Chaplin never stopped chasing him. Did Chaplin look for him that whole year? He imagined so, it wouldn't surprise him.
Stupid, stubborn...
Will stopped.
I'm being stubborn. I'm being selfish. One question, just one.
He looked back over his shoulder at the girl, "Are you coming?"

"Am I COMING?" She slung her scarf over her shoulder--not that you could tell it was supposed to be a scarf, and clicked her heels up to Will's side--not something any intelligently raised person would do, that is, running up to follow Will alone in a dark alley.
She sighed, dramatically. Will knew damned well she wanted him to start talking. "Well?"
No immediate reply.
"Will, you'd better word your vacant form of emotions... Carefully. I'll be blunt, because you're dense. Chaplin is a /nice/ looking young man. You're denying ownership. This contradicts your actions earlier, love."

Ugh. REL.
He wondered if she had her own dictionary entry.
"Noun -Vicious slut that chases anything with a penis, or penis like appendage, that can fill her gaping vagina."
Now calm down, you're getting jealous over nothing again.
"I never said that."
I said it didn't matter if I loved him. Because he might still love me.
"It's been a long time, him and I just need to talk."
But no one will leave us alone.

"I see. Annnd running off to a dark alley to peruse the contents of you 'medication' is filling these communication gaps." She stopped walking. "Will? Don't you dare act like I'm standing in your way."
Oh. Right. I just molested your not-boyfriend.
"...I said I'd back off. Besides, where would you be if I hadn't followed you?" She mimicked a computer. "I would be functioning as normal, you are making me question myself--Will? WILL. Will, where on earth are you going? Chaplin went to the cafe with his team mates after practice, which is that way."
Will stopped walking just a moment. "A cafe?" It had been a while since Will knew the Bullworth area. Thatcher U was easy enough to locate, pretending to be a lost student new to the area, but cafes hid in unconventional locations.
"Yes, Will. It's that way. Odds are, he's still there. He needed to go blow off some steam with the guys or something." She looked slyly over at Will, thinking she was being helpful. "Seemed pretty torn up that you just disappeared on him like that."

You won't take my girl away.
Kay headed home, walking with Bucky. She meandered through side streets and doubling back every now and then. He wasn't following her.
"Kay, please come out tonight," Bucky was begging. Kay's mind was whirring with other thoughts. She shook her head.
"I really can't," She said firmly. "Go find Bea, Bucky, I have a headache and I wanna study alone tonight,"
Her tone was perhaps too harsh. Her best friend stopped and hung back while she kept striding on. She could almost picture the hurt expression on his face.
I'm so, so sorry, friend.
Kay took her phone out of her pocket just as she reached her apartment block. She had one text from Lane. In a blind panic she almost dropped her phone down a drain.
It's got to be bad news.
"It's so lonely when you're gone,"
Kay breathed out rapidly. Her pulse slowed marginally. She half ran to the apartment door and took the stairs two at a time.
If i had my way, we'd never be apart.
Kay knocked softly on the door. Seven knocks. Any more or any less and Lane wasn't to answer the door. There was a short silence.
Then, through the still chained door, Lane peered out at Kay. Her eyes lit up a little and she closed and unchained the door.
Kay stepped inside and bolted and double locked the door.
"How was your day?" Lane asked, as she normally did. Kay gazed at her, she was so sweet and beautiful.
You are literally the most beautiful girl i have ever met.
Kay suddenly noted that Lane was barely dressed. Kay blushed deeply and looked away. She'd never get over that.
"It was okay... "
To tell her or not to tell her...
Kay thought for a fraction of a second, but decided not to tell her. She didn't want to alarm her OR .... Well... Kay was afraid of losing Lane in many ways.
"Just the usual," Kay smiled at her. She leaned down and gave Lane a tender kiss. Kay never wanted Lane to go, but she was like a bubble. Kay felt like she had a limited time to enjoy her their time together. Lane's lips were so, so soft. When they broke apart, Kay sighed deeply.
"You... haven't eaten your breakfast," Kay noted looking at the tray as she'd left it.
"I wasn't hungry," Lane admitted.
"You don't need a doctor or anything right? You're not ill," Kay eyed her thoroughly.
"No," Lane replied, sighing. "Just not hungry,"
"Okay, i believe you. Sorry,"
Lane lay down on her bed and Kay lay behind her, wrapping her arms around the small girl.
"I'm sorry I have to be gone so much..." Kay sighed in Lane's ear. "But... I have no classes tomorrow. I can stay in all day with you if you like. We can do what you like, eat what you like and talk about what you like."
~x~x~x~x
"What do you mean you aren't going? We had this planned for ages!" Bucky cried, as Bea admitted going to see the big game that night.
"Sorry, Bucky, I really am..."
"You're always cancelling on me!"
"It just seems that way!"
"No, it IS that way, Bea... I thought you loved me!"
"..."
"..."
"What about Kay? Aren't you going to hang out with her tonight?"
"No... Kay blew me off too... She was in one of her moods again,"
"You never can tell with her... I think she's outgrown us,"
"I doubt it, Bea."
"Think about it. She never used to do anything herself. Now she does laundry, makes her own food and buys toilet paper,"
"I think it's just cause she can't pay others to do it for her any more,"
"She won't even let you in her house, Bucky,"
"That doesn't mean a thing,"
"..."
"..."
"Anyway... I'm going... Uh I'll text you tomorrow,"
Even Bucky wasn't delusional enough to mistake the type of kiss she gave him. Obliged, rushed. No love. Bucky had rather she slapped him.
Since when is Bea into BASKETBALL anyway?!
Bucky sighed, in the middle of the Uni hallway, his back weighed a ton, his heart even heavier. Never feeling more alone than he did now. Normally he'd go spend the day with Kay... Back in the good old days... But now he had no one. None of his other old friends would understand. Kay would have understood. She'd have given him a pep-talk, bought him a hotdog and they'd have gone to play some computer games afterwards... Now she never seemed to have time for him.
He missed her a lot. She was his best friend. She used to tell Earnest off when he picked on him. She'd walk him places to stop the other kids picking on him. She thought his three watches was ultra cool. Especially when they set them to a few different time zones. Kay would always decide in his favour when she was the dungeon master in GnG.
Where was she now?

"Oh."
OhOhOhOhOhOhOh.
Will turned sharply on heel and began walking, nearly running, with a new sense of purpose.
REL followed, smiling all the while.
---
"Whatever I want?" The girl replied with wide eyes. She sat up on her elbows so she could face Kay, "Do you think... we could go out? Maybe? See a movie?"
She missed the outside almost as much as she missed Will. Being trapped here for days on end, with only Kay for company, had started to drain her. Although she would never tell Kay, there would be some days where she'd grab a chair and drag it just outside the door. She'd wrap herself in a blanket and just sit there, letting the wind play with her hair.
Lane was too scared to venture any further without Kay.
"Oh, please say yes!" She smiled brightly at her defender.

Shit...
But how could I disappoint my girl..?
"Y'know what, we could go to the big park on the other side of town. Then we could go to the movies at night," Kay told her. Lane's face lifted so much.
"That would be wonderful!" She cried, throwing her arms around Kay. Kay hugged her back tightly. Her hair smelled divine. Kay used the same shampoo, but somehow, in Lane's black, shiny hair, it smelled a million times better.
"I'm sorry you have to be cooped up in here all the time..." Kay sighed into her locks. "I just don't want you getting hurt..." She'd insult Will, but she knew better. It would deeply upset Lane, who was still so smitten with how Will used to be.
Kay broke her embrace with Lane and stood, opening the curtains. Late afternoon sun belted in the window. She even opened it a crack.
She lay back down, they basked in the warmth together.
"If I'm with you Lane, we can do what you wanna do... Cause I'll never let anything happen to you. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. I've never been so happy to have someone to feel like this about..."
Lane sighed and looked into the white-spotted blue sky.
"I love you,"

What?
Lane rolled over to look at the larger girl, her dark eyes as wide as ever. In the back of her mind, she had always known how Kay felt. It was all too obvious that she tripped over herself to keep Lane safe. As over the top as some of her actions were, Lane appreciated how Kay had given her so much and asked for so little.
"I'll never let anything happen to you"
"I'll protect you, always."
"You're safe with me."
Will.
All those years ago, they were so young, she heard a bang and hurried footsteps... Will grabbed her hand Run-Run-Run-Run! And they hid, as only children can, in the small dark spaces that only a house could provide, eyes squeezed shut I can't see you I can't see you.
"I won't let anyone hurt you."
"I'm here."
A tear fell down her cheek.
"I love you too."
Her voice was weak.

"What've you done to him?!" Roxy shrieked as she saw Chaplin's bleeding nose and bruised cheeks. Such divine, exotic features; ruined, bloodied. "What happened?" She lowered her voice, as she'd been trained to when talking to patients, "Please?"
"Boy snuck around and took a swig, told 'im I'd punch him if he tried," Bo provided, arms folded across his chest. The other players kept themselves low, they were used to these fights between Bo and Chaplin. Those who had been in Bullworth had seen how the Hawaiian got along with everyone in athletics; he was always invited to the parties, he always had a pretty slim thing around his arm during proms and dances, he could charm his way around teachers like Ms. Phillips.
He wasn't the same now, and they always wondered why.
"I told you I need a drink," Chaplin coughed out, clutching his sides, "You didn't have to hit me so hard."
"You wouldn't listen."
"Alright, enough!" Roxy put herself between the two boys, who were ready to fight again, "Please, everybody calm down." She turned her attention to Chaplin, "Your nose is bleeding, don't hold it back. Lean forward instead," she held the back of his head and pinched the bridge of his nose with a clean towel from her medical kit. "Can you hold it like that for a few minutes?"
Chaplin nodded.
"Will you be able to play tonight?"
Chaplin shrugged his shoulders.
"He can play plenty fine," Bo kept watch on his friend, never softening the hard and angry look, "He's been beaten up worse and scored two hoops."
"Chaplin," Roxy said, kindly, gently, "Please don't drink after this, please?" It was a polite request to the little blonde, to the Hawaiian though, it was the same line of nagging.
But I'll give, because you're a girl and you said 'please' reallll nice.
"Okay, okay."
"Okay?" A hopeful smile on Roxy's lips, "Now, drink more water, alright? Alcohol distracts the mind, the body works better on water."
It wasn't something Chaplin didn't know. It was the only reason he got into alcohol in the first place; drugs were illegal, he wouldn't know how to keep it a secret in his present state, alcohol could be bought at any corner shop without anyone suspecting him of having a problem.
But he complied with Roxy's wish.
Why couldn't you be like that, Will? Why couldn't you say 'please' and look at me sadly when I did something stupid.
Memories were a painful thing. Chaplin never took betrayal easily, it was just a part of his trusting nature.
I don't even think you WANTED to wait for me, you NEEDED to because I'd bitch at you if you didn't.
"Can you get up? Are in you pain?"
He got up, clutching his side with a hiss, but he managed. He wiped off the last bits of blood off his nose, handing the bloody cloth back to Roxy, who took it without any question.
"I'm okay. I can walk it off. Won't feel a ting when I'm out there tonight."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, don't worry."
Roxy was on her way to her apartment, she had just unlocked her car from the parking lot, when one Jimmy Hopkins came up to her.
"Jimmy?"
"Yeah, whatever, listen, you're a doctor right?"
"In training, yes. Why?"
"There's a fight going on, they won't stop. We need someone who can stitch somebody up before it gets too ugly."
She really didn't want to, honestly. Fights were common, more so in college when a blend of different brands of arrogance would rub each other off the wrong way.
The liberals had fist fights with the conservatives.
Vegans had shouting matched with carnivores.
More popular Sororities would put down the less popular ones.
It was like Bullworth all over again, Roxy was tired of that, she'd grown rather cynical about it.
"It can't be that bad, could it?"
"I saw blood."
That was all it took for Roxy to grab her medical kit out of the trunk, lock up her car and take off towards Chaplin and Bo's fight.
The other players had gone off in their own way, Bo parting Chaplin and Roxy with, "Make sure he's there before the game."
"Yes, of course."
She didn't see herself as a babysitter, but everyone seemed to think that was all she was good at; stitching them up and sitting them afterwards. Sure, a doctor was basically just that, but Roxy hated to think that was all there was to it.
"You don't have to watch over me, y'know?"
"I know, I need to leave soon anyway," Roxy shifted her weight, "But I wouldn't want you to go stumbling off and get yourself nicked in a ditch somewhere."
"Nah, it's okay. Really. I just... I needed that punch, really."
"Oh?"
"Things are a little clearer now."
"Well if you're fine I-- umm, Chaplin? Is something wrong?" She saw the boy look behind her, eyes cold, expression blank, hollow almost. The silence was deafening.
"Will." There was no more emotion in his voice.

Roxy was speechless. Her and Will weren't close, per se, but she knew about his little hospital visit, having volunteered there several times. The first time she heard he'd overdosed, timid Roxy couldn't help but linger outside his door. You rarely hear about people overdosing on accident, but Will never struck her the type. Maybe she had been wrong this whole time. That scared her.
Roxy knocked lightly on the door, force of habit really, and slowly turned the handle.
She never thought she'd find the proud Will Silverberg curled up pathetically with his pillow. It was immensely awkward. For a moment, she considered leaving.
No, Roxanne. He needs someone.
He didn't acknowledge the blond's presence, even as she pulled up a seat beside the bed.
"Hello, Will." It took all of her effort to keep her voice from stammering.
The pale boy glanced up at her, but offered no words.
Like a puppy, a poor little puppy.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" She kept her voice low and friendly, but Will glanced back down at the floor.
No, he didn't want to talk about it. He was done talking about it. Everyone wanted to talk about it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry." With that, she stood.
"Has Chaplin come back?" He still wasn't looking at her.
So the rumors were true? Chaplin, bless his heart, tried his best to hide things he worried would get him trouble, but he was just no good at it. His attempts were infantile at best.
"I don't know, I can ask though." The conversation appeared to be over.
Poor, poor thing.
Roxanne frowned at him, and stepped quietly out of the room.
---
Will was having a hell of a time trying to navigate the school with REL's help. For starters, her ridiculous heels kept her far behind him, and she spent so much time complaining.
"No, Will-WILL. OTHER. WAY."
She could feel him roll his eyes. What the fuck, she wasn't his damned GPS.
Once they arrived, it seemed like every single player was sitting and chatting, except Chaplin. REL could feel the frustration radiating.
"I'll handle this, lover boy." Will glared, while the twig shook her hips over to some innocent bloke and plopped right down in his lap.
"Uh-Hi there, babe!"
"Hello there, handsome ♥ I've got a spot of a problem, and was wondering if you could help?"
The player looked at his friends, completely caught off guard.
"I'm looking for Chaplin."
The whole table frowned.
"He's back in the clinic, with Roxy."
"Thanks, sugar. ♥" She kissed this random person full on the lips, before standing and trotting over to Will. The whole team had something new to get excited over.
Will was off again, he knew where the clinic was.
"Wait Wait WAIT WAIT!! WILL!"
They must have been an amusing sight.
----
"Listen, Chaplin, I know you miss him, but-"
The door swung open, and both occupants turned their heads in surprise. Will walked towards Chaplin, and the two just stared at each other. Will looking frustrated, and Chaplin looking tired. Their relationship had switched places.
For a moment, Will looked ready to hit the Hawaiian again, but ended up just lowering his hand.
"Please, please, don't get violent!"
Weak little Roxanne.
REL placed her hands on her hips, "Well? Are you gonna ask him already?"
Will glared at her, and marched right back out of the room.
"No! NO! WILL GET YOUR SKINNY ASS BACK OVER HERE." She chased him into the hallway.
Roxanne was so utterly confused.

((Sozzy I haven't posted in so long guise ;_;))
Judith nodded at Stevie's suggestion. "You know, that's not a bad idea! It's just who'd join up, really - I dunno who'd like that sort of thing around here. Even so, it's a nice idea - thanks." Giving him a little grin, she pondered.
She knew she shouldn't ask. Yet the question was burning at the back of her mind - she hadn't seen him here often, what was he doing? She coiled a dark curl of hair round her finger frantically to distract herself. Oh no, you really shouldn't ask, he might be a little touchy about it, or maybe he'll get mad-
"Y'know, I haven't seen you around here much. You, uh, waiting for anyone?" Judith suddenly blurted, the way she tended to. Very few thoughts could be suppressed successfully by her, especially when curiosity struck.
Oh well done, genius.
((Will post Seb stuff in a bit))
