It was a craze. Bif, Derby and Tad got into a major scuffle with Johnny, Peanut, and Norton. Brant and Parker were taking turns uppercutting Vance. Justin and Bryce were getting bloodied by Lefty and Lucky while Chad and Ricky were trading blows. It was a draw for the moment, although Vance, Justin, and Bryce could be considered losers in the fight. Lefty was boiling with rage against the Preps. He stomped on Bryce's mouth, then picked up a piece of wood and started bashing Justin's back with it. Brant was seeing red too. After a right hook from Vance, he sent Parker to help Chad while he sweeped Vance's legs, trying to cripple him in some way. Tad and Peanut ended up falling off the boardwalk, with the fight still continuing under the boardwalk. The Jocks stood laughing all the while, espically Luis. He would have loved to see the Preps squirm. And thats what was happening. Some Preps were getting the better of them, but Luis didn't care. They would be spitting out teeth and coughing out blood by the end of this fight. Chapter 707 has begun in the fight between the Preps and the Greasers.

((Uh, I don't mean to be arguing with anyone here, but, C, I wanted to lead off my character on my own. I'm not picking favorites, but I trust Professor more in using Charlie than I do someone who is new to the board. ))

((Not wanting to sound like a total douche but you guys gotta put some "said" in dialogue tags. Things like gasped, exclaimed, asked and panted can be really irritating to read. You can't really gasp or laugh and say something at the same time, can you?))

((You think so? I haven't noticed anyone overusing "not-said" words in particular. There seems to be a pretty good balance between the use of "said," other words, and lack of dialogue tags altogether.
Also, you can gasp words, and "laughed" as a dialogue tag implies that you're laughing before and/or after you've said the sentence.
So long as the posts are clear, that kinda word choice doesn't make a huge difference anyway.))

((It's never a good idea to use an emotion for a dialogue tag. A tag shows the way something has been said, so if you say "Dan laughed. 'Good idea!'" means he laughed before saying it, but saying "Good idea!", Dan laughed means that Dan is laughing while saying it. Gasped is the same, worse actually. Also, tags like asked, replied, denied and challenged are annoying because if you use them you're practically spoonfeeding me. If the sentence ends with a question mark, it automatically means a question so no need to put asked there. Dan turned to Bill. "Where are the pictures?" is much better than "Where are the pictures?", Dan asked Bill. The same, if someone answers a question no need to put replied and saying "No", he denied is especially irritating. That's that. My next post is IC I swear.

((That's true, sure. But at that point you're just splitting hairs. And seeing as this RP is in the main board and not the Swimming Lessons board, there's no need to critique another users' posts unless the meaning of the post is unintelligible due to their grammar/word choice/whatever.
Also, general message to everyone: to keep this board from getting any more cluttered, let's keep the OOC discussions to a minimum. Unless you have an IC post to go with your OOC comment, post it to the Big Ol' Big Thread, please!))
Juri had grabbed Amy around the waist and swung her around playfully, the way he used to when they'd been dating. Even then, it had been just another way the Russian boy liked to show off his strength - Amy and Jodie were quite used to their male friends tossing them about like that. She laughed and wriggled free of his strong grasp, then turned on heel to shout some teasing threat, but stopped when she noticed the commotion on the boardwalk. Even at that distance, it wasn't hard to tell the greasers apart from the preps, clad in dark leather and swinging weapons. She sucked in a sharp breath and squinted, but they were all too far off and moving too fast for her to make out who was who.
One by one, the other jocks stopped to notice, and most of them chuckled and shook their heads. The jocks typically stayed out of the rivalry between the preps and greasers, but that didn't mean they couldn't enjoy the show. She noticed the way Luis grinned, and trotted across the hot sand to his side.
"What's all the fuss about, hun?" she asked, and hoped that she sounded casual about it. As far as any of her friends knew, Amy didn't have any reason to feel one way or the other about the greasers.
Luis shrugged his heavy shoulders. "Same old, same old," he said. "Maybe the boys just missed 'em, you know?"
Amy gave a polite little giggle, but kept her eyes on the fight. Things were getting ugly. A pair of boys came falling from the boardwalk, and for a split second all she noticed was the brown hair and dark jacket, and her stomach lurched. Thankfully, his face appeared unscarred - it wasn't him. Whoever that boy was rolled around in the sand with the other, Tad by the looks of it, but Amy hardly felt reassured. She could feel her nerves twinge, and she shuffled her feet in the sand. She wanted to move.
"Don'tcha think we should do something?" she said to no one in particular. "They're beating the crap out of each other."
"What for?" asked Ted with a chuckle. "Those rich kids can handle themselves."
"Serves 'em right for hogging the boardwalk," Damon grumbled.
They fell quiet for a moment, watching, when Dan piped up, "You know, if those greaseballs win, we can probably go and take the boardwalk ourselves. They sure as hell won't use it. They hate it here."
"Like a buncha greasy throwbacks could beat up trained boxers," scoffed Casey. Luis turned on him with a glare.
"Training don't mean shit when you're fighting in the real world," he said darkly. "Them rich kids don't stand a chance."
"Greasers are the ones who started it," Bo chimed. "Derby should kick their asses."
Suddenly everybody was talking at once.
"Screw Derby. That guy's a prick."
"Like Johnny's any better?"
"At least Johnny doesn't run around trying to buy his way out of everything."
"It's not like those rich kids did any work this summer. A little exercise'll be good for 'em."
"But it ain't right, just jumping 'em like that."
Everybody was getting antsy, save for Jodie, who poured herself another cup of flavored vodka and rocked her hips to the music, which was quickly becoming muffled under everyone else's shouting. Amy's eyes momentarily met with Rylie's, the smaller girl looking visibly distressed by this whole thing. Amy smiled to reassure her, and hoped her face didn't betray her own nervousness. She turned to Luis once again, and said in her most innocent, "We're gonna help 'em, though, right?"
Luis clapped a large hand on her shoulder. "You better stay here," he said, and didn't seem to notice the way she scowled at that. "But I'm going."
"Going to what? Help those greasey kids mug those rich kids?" Juri glared at him. "That does not sound wise, my friend."
"Yeah? Tough shit." Luis turned and jogged toward the battle on the boardwalk. Several other jocks grunted in agreement and went running after him. Amy almost went after them, but noticed the way some of the others frowned at this turn of events.
Mandy tugged at Ted's arm. "Baby, Pinky's there! She's like, one of my best friends! You can't let those greasemonkies...I don't know! Just do something!"
Ted looked to her, hesitated, them turned to those jocks that had stayed. "Come on, boys, we gotta teach those greaser punks some manners."

Duck, to the left, he'll swing to the right, good, side-step, back-st-- no, wait, someone's there. Block. Success!
Tony didn't know exactly how he found himself in the middle of a fight, but he was there and a few angry preppies were throwing punches at him. He was fairly sure his lip was bleeding, he took two blows to the jaw and one to the temple (Lucky had apologized), but he didn't really have the time to really check.
A body slammed into his back and Tony stumbled with a curse on his lips, turning to yell at them, but whoever it was had already ran off. He saw Ricky and Chad off to his left, Chad getting the upper hand on Ricky. When Tony moved to intervene, Josie came dashing out of nowhere, tackling Chad to the ground. Tony's lips twitched upwards into a smile at the sight. Ricky gave a cheer of approval.
So Tony shifted through the brawl, trying to pinpoint where he was needed. He saw that one Preppy, Parker he believed his name to be, making his way towards Ricky and Josie. Charlie intercepted his path, however, with a punch that sent Parker stumbling back towards Tony, in which Tony shoved the Prep forward so he stumbled over his own feet towards Charlie.
Commotion to his right had Tony walking towards the edge of the boardwalk, ignoring the fighting around him, and peaking over the edge, watching Tad and Peanut curse at each other with amusement. However, that amusement was quickly wiped away by the sounds of the thundering footsteps of the Jocks making their way across the sand, towards the fight, shouting things at both The Prep and his fellow Greasers. That's not what caught his eye, though. It was behind them, clad in a blue bikini top and those very short shorts that were very appealing to the eye ("Booty shorts, Tony, not fanny panties. Goddamnit, Vance."), standing there with what looked to be concern on her face. His heart fluttered in excitement at the sight of her, so scantly covered, that he didn't even notice The Jocks make their way to the boardwalk. Ted didn't even bother to look at what caught Tony's attention, choosing to instead pull a Josie and tackle him to the ground. Only if there was a ground. They went flying off the boardwalk, landing beside Peanut and Tad, startling the pair, Ted on top of Tony and Tony's face in the sand and, with Ted now perked on his back, in a lot of pain.
"Ey, roid monkey, this ain't yer fight so back off!"
((SORRY GUYS I wanted to wait for Roto and Kras to post (let them slip in a post before we pick up without them) but I brainstormed an idea and I wanted to post while I was inspired.)
Sorry for controlling Charlie Kras aahh I figured I'd give him some action, I'll replace his name if you want me to though))

iBrant was just about done with Vance. His legs were sore. Vance's nose was bleeding. Just like the Greasers to not stand a chance. Then he felt a large pain towards his head and fell foward. It was Luis. They met each other before. And Brant was more then happy to deliver a beating. Brant first started off with a headbutt, then gave a heavy kick to Luis. However, he was given a football tackle by Luis. Then Bo showed up. He looked hesitant, feeling to help the Preps, but not wanting to hurt his friend. He ultimately decided to fight somewhere else. While Luis was distracted, Brant used his free hand to slap him across the face, as a reminder that Brant wouldn't let this interference go unpunished. However, the slap didn't even stun Luis. He delivered a knee drop, causing Brant to groan in pain. . Norton and Bif were delivering large blows to each other, no one blow being able to stop each other. Norton's MMA style and Bif's Boxing style were a perfect match for a long fight. It appeared Bif was getting the upperhand. He was the 3rd toughest student in the school, taking a back seat only to Russell and Hopkins. But then Norton delivered a large boot to the Prep, causing Bif to be stunned.bb Derby remember the fire crackers he was given at the start of the fight by Brant, and threw one at Johnny. Johnny fell to the floor of the boardwalk Derby smiled arrogantly. He knew he had Johnny right where he wanted him. Derby then dealt swift kicks to Johnny, before picking him up and throwing him into Norton. Norton turned around, distracted, giving Bif an oppurtunity to strike. (( Oh also, anyone can use my character in their typings if they want. ))

"Strong?" Kirby commented, gently taking the bottle from the cheerleader and taking another gulp. "Oh right, I forgot, you girls like sipping those fruity martinis." Rylie simply replied with an uneasy giggle, nervously turning her head away as she pulled her knees up to her chest. She was starting to feel a bit dizzy from that one shot alone, and on top of that, Kirby was sitting closer to her than he even had. It might not have meant anything to the wide receiver of the Bullhorns (who has probably gained many suitors in his lifetime), but to Rylie, it was completely different. He was basically her definition of attractive when it came to a person; nice build, cool to be around, and very athletic. Trying to focus her attention elsewhere, she casually looked over to where the other Jocks had been settled. Everyone looked like they were having such a blast; Jodie and Amy, Rylie's tall and gorgeous cheer mates, were laughing as the boys twirled them around on the beach. The blonde's lips curled into a small smile, up until she spotted the Preps and what appeared to be a group of males wearing leather jackets --Greasers she thought they were called-- began to grow hostile towards one another."Kirby, look," Rylie said, pointing her finger to where the action was taking place. "Are they like... about to fight?" The boy next to her laughed, standing up to get a better view of all what was going on. "Pfft, you mean those morons over by the boardwalk? Lola probably had a giant gang bang at Harrington House and set her ol' man off again!" Suddenly, a few of the other Jocks sprinted towards where the fight was taking place. As first Rylie thought it was simply to observe and egg the others on -- fights were something the Bullhorn athletes liked to view, anyways. "Aw hell, looks like I gotta help the guys hand out some poundcake," Kirby shouted, balling his fists up as she started to head down the shoreline. "I'll be back, 'kay? Don't make yourself too sick drinking all of my vodka, ha ha." "Kirby, wait!" Rylie called out, "What if you like, get hurt or something?!" He looked back, smirking at the blonde who sat worried with large eyes and her lips shaped into a frown. "Are ya kiddin' me? They can't touch us, we're the fucking Bullworth Bullhorns! Why don't you say a cheer while I'm fightin' for good luck?" With those final words, he was off faster than a speeding bullet, colliding his fist straight into someone's jaw, though Rylie couldn't quite make out who it was. He honestly had no idea what the reason behind the fight was, but he often joined in for the simple reason of impressing his teammates with how tough he could be. Students were everywhere -- Rylie couldn't even tell who was who anymore. She quietly jogged over to where Jodie, Mandy, and Amy were gathered, always nervous when in front of the other girls, but not wanting to seem like a total Nerd being all by herself. "Guys, like... what's going on? Why is everyone fighting?" ((Also, sorry for not posting yesterday! I had terrible stomach pains and stayed in bed the entire day *sob sob*))

((Sorry if I had not been in this RP as much, but I was getting nervous on messing up the scenes like I did in the past. I was waiting for people to start describing the scene to make it easier for me to jump in. For some reason I'm not able to use dialogue at the moment.))
As Tony pushed Parker towards Charlie, the Asian Greaser did not hesitate. He punched him as hard as he could in the jaw, making Parker fall to the ground. He was pinned down by heavy weight as he was being wailed on, being given a barrage of punches.
Charlie then yanked the prep to him up to eye-level and threw him at the feet of Hal.
Parker had a swollen lip with blood dripping down his chin. As he wiped his mouth, smearing the blood on the side of his hand and face, Hal blocked the sun, enshrouding Parker in his shadow.
Hal crushed him even more and finished him off.
Charlie dashed towards Bif to stop his blow to Norton, slamming into him, but Bif gave him solid punch square in the chest. Charlie stepped back, wheezing a bit. Bif took swings at him, while Charlie tried his best to dodge his fists.
Norton jumped back in to hold his own against Bif until Charlie was able to catch his breath again and help him.
