((It's obvious that I'm drowning in the actual RP forums, and I keep on messing up the characters (Canon and OC) badly. I've only managed to get a little bit of Jodie, some of Amy, and not much of Chaplin. I think I should stay away from Chaplin for a while before Mikhaila even tries to interact with him, so I'll put that off...And, I should probably take a break from Under The Ferris Wheel until I recover and gain a bit of skill. I'm not freaking out this time, just stating the truth. Anyone can have a discussion about this on Chat if you want. Just give me a specific time and I'll see if I can try and make it.))

Alright well, I was planning on commenting on the rp itself, but you seemed to have jumped on that.
The reason I do not use other people's characters is because I think I'll fuck them up. It does not make my replies any less good. Do NOT role play another character, Canon or OC (especially another's OC) unless you're sure you understand how they act about 98%.
Honestly, you did bad with Chaplin. At least from what I can remember.
Don't worry about making them long. The more you play around with things you don't understand, the worse the reply actually is. We had a bad experience with another role player that absolutely butchered Stevie, and we don't want a repeat.
Stick to what YOU. ARE. COMFORTABLE. WITH.
Honestly, if it was Tony you butchered and not Chaplin, I'd be on a rage fest and I would be extremely mad at you.
Also, don't role play Canon OC's until you study their profiles, their habits, etc. Even minor characters, liiike Dan Wilson (the Jock), who have little to no dialog in the cutscenes actually have a backstory and a personality to go along with it. Dan's a jock, yes. He's also a previous nerd and was bullied a lot-- his younger brother Thad is also a nerd. He adores Football, he claims it defines his life, yet he does miss his old nerdy tendencies. He beats up and bullies nerds more than any other Jock, and gloats about it. This implies he has a bit of self-loathing and takes it out on the nerds, his previous group. This is interesting because it's not like Luis. Luis is a previous Greaser, turned Jock, but he's pretty chill with the Greasers still.

Understood...
Somehow I'm ok with Amy just a bit...At least I won't get into any major lines, because I really don't want to fuck up any personality...
I wouldn't go too far with Amy....
Tony, I would never touch...
Chaplin...Not doing ever again...
Anyone else...Not getting into...

Read the character's bios. Thoroughly.
Amy's relatively easy, as is Chaplin (his accent aside). Practice on your own, maybe write something with Amy or another character and send it to the character's creator, asking them if this is what they would do and such.
Tony is a relatively difficult character, one of my more advanced ones. Even I have trouble with him-- and he's my character.
Stick to what you're comfortable with, what the character's creator is comfortable with, and read their profiles through and through.

Seconding what Terr said - don't try to write dialogue for a character unless you feel you have some grasp on their personality. If you're not going to read old posts of the character, then at least look over their bio. For canon characters, I'd recommend going to the Bully wiki (bullygame.wikia.com) since their character pages go fairly in-depth. Also, don't beat yourself up if you don't feel prepared to RP any of the OCs, or even canon characters. You can make a perfectly good post by just using Mikhaila, if you had to - most traditional RPs will only have the writers RP their own OC, and maybe an NPC, and they get on just fine. And there are definitely some OCs who are harder to RP than others, regardless of who their creator is. I can do a pretty decent Terrance (or so I've been told), but I wouldn't even think of touching Tony. Amy would, though. But we shall discuss this next time you log on
