Hello and welcome to the Bully Roleplay Forum's Swimming Lessons.
The objective of the pool is to help newcomers to the RP scene and those who just want to sharpen their writing or character building skills strengthen their weaknesses and pick up a few tips from the people who have been doing it for years.
I'll be your lifeguard for the day, with the help of my fellow admins miss Chelsea Saughton, DJKID, and Memai. If you have any questions regarding your character or your writing, don't hesitate to PM me, or post in one of our threads here in the Lessons subforum. I will do my best to provide the thread with resources for writing and character building, none necessary and all for fun, but definitely beneficial to everyone.
I'll be adding a few threads to start things up.
*Making a Believable Character*
Here you'll find tips on creating a character, and how to do it in a way that is interesting and realistic.
*Things You Should Never do in a Roleplay*
This thread will discuss those little things that just never make sense, but are often done in the excitement to get in the fray.
*One-Shot Wonders*
Not so much an actual roleplay, but a thread where you can BS any situation you want into a few paragraphs and post it, specifically for the cause of admins reviewing so as to give advice on how to improve. Want to get on REL's good side? Ain't gonna happen, but you can write about it anyway here.
I'll also add a Roleplay or two to get things started once the other threads are in order. The Roleplays can be about anything, any ludicrous situation, however dramatic and serious or wacky and farfetched you please as long as you accept critiques. This will work mostly like the main RP threads, except that admins will be critiquing your posts to help you improve. We'll let you know things such as when you write something out of character, grammar, and derailings. You may also post here if you don't 'know who your character is,' can't decide what kind of person they are' or what clique to place them in, and would like to throw them in the fray and get to know them. I Know, for sure, I need to test drive my new characters before I decide what aspects are -really- important to them and what characteristics can be dropped all together.
Feel free to PM me with your suggestions about this forum.
And don't forget to properly punctuate your sentences lest you seek a visit from the grammar nazi DJKID in your sleep.
