Here are some scenarios that nobody ever smiles at.
Psychic Sue
You know too much.
Jane Doe is having lunch by herself in Old Bullworth Vale when a fight breaks out at the school between love interest Bif Tremblay and arch nemesis Johnny Vincent. Jane Doe just suddenly decides she NEEDS to go back to school ASAP, and would have no doubt tried to stop the fight if it weren't for the fact that Johnny's roleplayer and Bif's roleplayer had already resolved the fight in their posts, and Bif lost and went to go sulk at Harrington House. Jane finds Bif (still without stating why it is she has decided to see him so suddenly) and despite Bif's writer clearly stating that he is acting like nothing happened, she "just knows" and through nothing but sheer intuition pieces together that Bif lost to Johnny in a fight, and begins to console him.
If there's no valid reason your character should be doing/thinking/knowing something, they aren't likely to do/think/know it.

You can't just waltz right in the door guns a-blazin'.
John Doe was so upset at what REL had done to Roxy's hair, and so angered by her tears and embarrassment, that he marched right straight up to REL's mansion, broke down the door, done told that bitch a thang or two, and punched her right square in her ugly fugly face. Then he cut her hair off. And she cried.
Who said he knew where REL lived? Where was her expensive butlers and security system? Who even said she was home? Wait, I NEVER said she lost this fight, and I did NOT give you permission to cut off her hair.
Give us a chance to reply. If you're in a fight, say they threw the punch, and hit "send post." We'll decide if our character was hurt/cried/fought back/got their hair cut off, thank you.
Attention Sue
Wait, what were you saying? Me Me Me Me?

Roxy cowered back a bit as Derby glared at her. She knew her recklessness got the better of her sometimes--but slapping Derby? She looked to her left... preps. She looked to her right... moar preps. The only weak spot in the wall was straight ahead... She speared Derby and took off running, desperate.
"After her!" he shouted. It was on.

Jane walked into the Harrington House and saw Derby looking kind of mad. "Hey Derby, baby, are we still on for dinner tonight?"
"Sure my darling you know I treat my women well."
"Well, I'm going to need a new dress, won't I?"
"We should go buy one then."
"Oh, Derby~"
If the scene isn't about you, don't make it about you. You'll get your spotlight. But taking obvious attention away from other characters is not only unfair, but confuses the situation.

Wait, what ever happened to Joe? Wasn't his Wife Dying?

"Ok, peasants, I'm going home to feed my ferret OH HO HO! <3" And REL left.

Jane ran to REL's house from the dramma and rang the doorbell. "I've secretly loved you all my life!"

"Uh."
It's not bad to have 2 scenarios going on at the same time, but I mean. REL's bathing a rodent-cat-dog-weasel thing in a bathtub... and the school is on fire. You chose to go after REL?
