Interesting. However, to have a trial there must be a big crime. It would be a big deal if a 15-year old was tried for, let's say, murder, armed robbery or physical assault. It would probably be a several month long trial, too. Now if he would be found not guilty, I don't think that his parents' reaction would be to punish their kid by sending him to a school where he would be tormented because the fact that he was found not guilty would push him into committing crimes. My idea is that the protagonist (for the sake of simplicity, in the further text he will be referred to as "Cesar") is a troublemaker who, despite not living in big poverty with his mother (who has a job) and baby sister, starts selling drugs to make extra money and that forces him to truancy. When he gets sent to the principal one day, the principal tells him that if he continues behaving that way, he will have to expel him from the school. Cesar tries to come to class more often, but once gets attacked by two racist boys (he's Hispanic, right?) and beats them both up. The principal has it, and expels Cesar. He searches for a new school, and finds Bullworth Academy. He has to travel to Bullworth all by himself to live in the school dorm. True, a trial would require a significant crime. HOWEVER, if you're a 15 year old kid, you would be sent to court in order to be dealt with. Court cases aren't at all that dramatic and serious; I've been to court merely on traffic offenses. It wouldn't technically be called a 'court', however, I can't remember the name but I know that when kids are caught doing criminal activity, they're sent off somewhere to decide whether or not they have to go to jail or warrant a police investigation. People go to court for all sorts of reasons, even for small crimes. BUT ANYWAY. Why give him such a hard and criminal-like background anyway? Even Jimmy Hopkins didn't have such a hardened life. Okay, he has a hard life, but if he's supposedly as smart as you're describing him, he'd probably find another way to get by, one that won't get him in a lot of trouble so quickly? Maybe not selling drugs, but perhaps selling test answers or offers his service to beat up other kids in the neighborhood? Something juvenile, really. His principal from his old school does not know how to handle this situation, so the principal sends him off to Bullworth Academy to straighten him out? I'm not trying to tone it down because I'm a prude, but it is a little silly to have such a dramatic backstory when most students in Bullworth have fairly average backgrounds You could also use that as an angle? A kid who grew up in a tough neighborhood suddenly comes to Bullworth where everyone has it better than most and has to deal with their typical bullshit? I'm just worried that such a hardened character would end up angsting. It's hard to take a character seriously when he says he's tough and can fight well but complains day in and day out about how awful his life was/is. So you've got to watch yourself if you're going to maintain a troubled background ;>

Alright, good point there. So, it could be like this:
Cesar lives with both of his parents but lacks the love most other children have. The main reason for that is that his father is a harsh man who believed that children should be beaten and not spoiled. Cesar was mischievous and a troublemaker in his childhood, and his relationship with his father was strained. Later on Cesar would skip school with his friends and they would spend time hanging and smoking weed, and sometimes engaging in activities such as fighting and petty crimes. When he was arrested, tried and eventually set free, his father decided to enroll him in Bullworth Academy to straighten him out, as he had heard of its reputation as a tough school.
Does this look good?

That sounds a lot more realistic and a lot more believeable :> And to a degree, even relate-able to some people. I think you've got a great start here, so I hope you guys can handle the roleplay and storytelling aspect well <3

Ok, so I think we got it, of course if scg25 agrees. The next thing we need to talk about is when the story is taking place. I suggest a year or two after the events of Bully, as there can be changes in character list. Now which characters have stayed and which have left, that'll come in the story. Then we have to describe the main character, his name, personality, looks, etc.

Alright, now all we need to do is create an in-depth character profile of the character. Anyone wanna do that?

If we're all collaborating on the character, why don't we all do the profile? Everyone who wants to can add one or two traits.
I'll start: His name is Andre, and he's bisexual.

I think that, instead of everyone adding a trait, we should decide each trait so everyone is satisfied. Now because the character is Hispanic, then his name would be Andres rather than Andre. Anyway, my suggestion for the name is Cesar as seen in my history examples.

I suggest that he's not bisexual at all. Also he's born in America and speaks fluent English so his last name would probably have hispanic qualities. His first name can be whatever we want it to be. For instance Cesar..

I think he should have a Hispanic accent. It can be a weak one, but still present. Also, he could speak fluent Spanish and incorporate some Spanish slang in his English, such as cabron or something like that. The country his family originates from should be specified. I suggest Puerto Rico. Since he's Hispanic, he needs to have two last names (the first one from his father and the second from his mother) but when introducing he can say just one.

He shouldn't have a heavy accent, if he has any accent at all. If he does, make it slight.
Are you suggesting he talk in broken English, like my character Tony, or just use Spanish phrases when speaking (like how Chaplin uses "brah")?

I'm thinking that he speaks both English and Spanish fluently (and the first one with a slight accent). He doesn't put a lot of Spanish in his English sentences, but can use a Spanish catchphrase, a word he uses to call people. Aforementioned cabron, for example.

Alright this is getting a little messy D: Too many cooks spoil the broth and all.
How about this? Everyone who's partaking is given a list of traits they have to do. For example; Nick can fill out the stats, his basic personality, etc, professor can fill out things like his uniform, his physical appearance, etc.
Divide it up however you guys want to, make it random even. Whatever is written has to be accepted; the profile sheet is then put together and then everyone can decide what should be changed around (like fixing his name, tweaking the stats to fit his physique, etc.).

I agree with Mems - we should split up the work. I'd be happy to just stick with his appearance, while the rest of you decide on his stats and backstory and all that.
(I still think he should be bisexual, though. Just sayin'.)

I disagree on him being Bisexual. Now I have nothing against people with different sexual views then me (my step-brother's gay). I just think we should keep the character straight.
