Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Everyone, calm yo' tits.
The reason we ask for reasons or an explanation is because it helps for character development. If someone else wanted to try writing about this character, and they don't know the exact reason for why this character believes this-and-that and won't go here-and-there, it's going to come out so much more differently, because everyone has a different idea on what 'rational' is, or what 'emotional' means. But if there's an explanation or even a sort of backstory, or understanding, it makes it easier to write.
For example; my idea on a rational character would be someone who wasn't afraid of death, because death is naturally occuring and all life must come to an end. Whereas someone else might interpret rational as someone who -might- fear death, because they understand that life is limited and it won't make sense accepting things blindly when there's so much left to do.
Confusion is what you don't want when writing out your character, especially when other people get a hold of it.
Now let's just wait for everyone to post up what they've got, a'ight?

Nobody here really wants to write boy on boy romances with this character. I literally just laughed out loud. I take it you haven't looked at much of the older RP threads? But if you're that squicked out by it, maybe it can be just illuded to? Like he's in a bromance with, say, Duncan(the kissable Townie boy). Or someone. Since he's generally indifferent toward people, maybe he's just got one close friend who he forms a strong emotional bond with - the exact nature of that bond can be somewhat ambiguous. I don't see this person being particularly "romantic" toward anyone, be they male or female. Or he can be in that sort of relationship with a female character, who he doesn't explicitly show affection/attraction to. Maybe Zoe? Also, coming along with my part. Shall post it up in the not-too-distant future.

I meant this particular story. This particular character. I'm very aware of people's love towards boy on boy romances in rps and fanfictions, a love which I do not share.

I see your point. I just thought it was a funny thing to say on this forum, of all place Personally, I'd prefer any romantic subplots to be somewhat minor for this story. There are so many shenanigans to get into at Bullworth that'll be much more fun to write about.

We will see how the story progresses. Now since nobody took the responsibility of naming this guy, I will do it to get that over with. His full name is Cesar Luis Castillo Herrera.

It's not bad, however, to me it just doesn't look like he comes from a 'hood (which we talked about earlier). I don't wanna be a pain, but coming from a hood, I don't think he would wear a color that belongs to a street gang, no matter if he's not African-American (talking about the red basketball jersey). Imagine him walking down the street explicitly wearing red, and running into a group of Crips. So I think he would rather wear a less noticeable color. Something dark, for example, or white.
I also don't know about his hair, I mean it doesn't have to mean anything but I suggest styles like buzzcut, cornrows, or something seen in hood films. Maybe cliche, but I think they are better in this particular situation.
Finally, if he plays a lot of basketball, then why is he so short? 5'5'' is pretty short for a 15-year old kid, especially if he plays basketball. I don't play basketball, yet I'm 5'8''. So, he should be taller, at least 170 cm tall.

Oh, I missed the bit about his playing basketball. But short people can play basketball, too - there's a kid in my gym class who's really good at it, and he's barely taller than I am (about 5' 2") I didn't think there were Crips and Bloods in the Bullyverse? I just picked red because it'd look good with his dark complexion, but I guess white could work. The curls stay, though. That I will not compromise He can be a tough guy and still have cool hair. I'll edit my post when I get home from school.

Please don't say you imagine THIS as his hair. If it is, then could it at least be short? Or tied somehow?

Also, if he's Puerto Rican, shouldn't his primary language be Spanish? Surely his parents would speak Spanish to each other and that would be the first language he would learn.

Not necessarily true :> Sure, many Puerto Ricans speak Spanish, but a lot of modern ones also speak English as their 'primary' language (or just the language they use more frequently when out with friends). I know plenty of Puerto Ricans, all of whom speak good English, albeit with a slight/somewhat-noticeable accent :>
So Prof has it pretty much on the head. And besides, it's not as if this kid was fresh off the boat (unlike characters such as Chaplin, Emil and Tony, who haven't been in the mainland/United States for very long). Bilingual people in the States aren't all that uncommon, especially if they come from a minority background :>
Plus, it doesn't matter what language you learn first; I learned English as a first language, but I speak Malay better. A German friend of mine spoke German until she moved here at 15, now she speaks better English and barely scrapes by in German.
tl;dr: Tiny things like what his first/second language doesn't matter, his dialogue would be written in English anyway, maybe with a few, common Spanish words. Don't sweat the petty stuff ;>

If he's born in America, he'd speak English. He would have a Spanish accent, but otherwise speak English. Especially in his older age; he's a teenager, not a little kid. Maybe as a young child he would know Spanish only, but growing up he would learn English.
So, he wouldn't speak broken English like Tony, who has a hard time speaking English. He'd just probably use Spanish words when he speaks.

Suddenly swamped with assignments, so I have no time to sketch it up myself, but I was thinking his hairstyle can be something like this. Now if you'll excuse me, I will delve into my homework for the rest of the evening~
