(( This is a one-on-one rp between Chelsea and I. No one else is permitted to rp here. ))A chilling October wind was blowing through the trees, blowing their dying leaves into twisting whirlwinds. The setting sun had stolen the remaining warmth with it, the darkness that followed only made the curling branches and cracking leaves more intimidating.
Trapped in the cliche horror movie scene, the missing person, Lane Silverberg, had finally slowed her pace. Normally, one lost in the woods would be terrified of the idea of being trapped in darkness, but Lane's feelings were exactly the opposite. Rather, Lane could not have been more excited for nightfall. She knew her brother never entered the forest at night. The sounds messed with his mind.
After taking a moment to catch her breath, the poor girl returned to her journey. It had been days since she was last seen in civilization, and her appearance clearly communicated that. Her hair was unwashed and tangled, she'd long since lost her trademark headband. Throughout her outfit were stains, tears, and wrinkles. Mud had caked onto her shoes and hands, been smudged across her face.
Lane pulled her coat tightly around herself and sniffled, partly form the cold and partly from her own tears. Although she may have entered safe mindset, her face was still flushed and tear stained.
For what felt like hours she walked on in a daze, far too afraid to sleep. Then, there was no longer the snap of twigs beneath her feet. She'd done it. She was out of that damned forest!
But where was she?
In the distance she heard the sounds of teenagers arguing over something. Curious, she cautiously crept toward the sounds, careful to keep herself hidden.(( I'm thinking she's behind the Observatory somewhere, but you can spit her out wherever ))

"Get outta here!" "Yeah right, we're comin' in." "No way, you're a troglodyte!"
The observatory was surrounded in a flurry of green vests. There was a large wall running infront of it. There were teenagers atop and at the gates. A skinny male with glasses was manning a huge cannon firing out objects that could not be identified at such a speed. Other youths, all with glasses, were throwing fire crackers, or launching them out of rockets. Some had slingshots and others simply threw bricks at some unknown force on the other side of the wall.
There was resonding bangs as huge teenage men kicked down the gate and flooded toward the observatory. As if it was a que in a play, a monsterous girl flew out of the observatory, weilding a steel baseball bat. She had no hestitaion in running straight into the crowd of boys, swinging the bat with all her might. Her jaw was clenched, eyes squinting slighty.
The teens clad in sport clothing, obviously jocks, also had baseball bats, and she took hits. Oh the hits she took. But a mountain bears manny rugged scars on it's stone face before it will fall.
Blood sprayed from a hulking black boy's mouth and nose as the girl cracked him with the bat.
The other green-vested youths jumped down the from the wall, firing their rocket launchers and what seemed to be canons firing potatoes...
The battle was feirce and lasted long, but the smaller, less tough Jocks decided to sprint away as they saw their large leaders being ploughed down.
It was finally ended when the largest of all the boys was brought to a crashing halt as he dived to tackle the huge girl and she brought her foot up and kicked him squarely in the face. The boys all lay groaning on the grass. The girl spent a few minutes with a chubby accomplice rolling them outside the gate, before they propped it back up on it's broken hinges.
"Back to GnG then?" The girl joked.
"We actually won!" Shouted a skinny boy with a lisp.
"We did," Nodded another, equally as skinny boy with light hair. "For once," He added darkly.
"We just need to be prepared." The larger girl stated.
"I'm so glad we did this time, aren't you, Kay?" Gushed a blonde girl with a pink ribbon in her hair.
The socially challenged group high-fived and grinned at each other.
"It's late..." Commented who seemed to be the leader.
"Yeah, I'm gonna head back," Said a fat red haired boy. "I gotta phone my mom before i sleep."
Slowly the little group started to shuffle away.
"Aren't you coming, Kay?" Asked the shorter girl.
"Nah, I have to grab my bag, it's inside. I'll catch you all up," Kay replied. The rest walked on out of sight and Kay bolted straight in and was out again in a second with her rucksack.
She had just started to walk away as she sensed movement behind her.
"Hey..?" She half called out, the hairs on the back of her neck raising. She hoped it wasn't a bear. She'd fought enough bears today. She dismissed it and continued to walk away...

Wow.
It was hard to not be impressed by the display of teamwork and brute force. Such bravery...
Lane licked her chapped lips, "Hey.."
She could hardly recognize the voice as her own, the way the sound cracked and drifted lazily. It was hardly a whisper. Why don't you just go after her?
No, no. He'll find me out there...
Once more, just try again.
"Hey!" Better. Not a normal tone, but better.
Let her hear me...
The unlucky girl curled beside a large rock that formed the base of those steep ledges. Hiding, but begging to be found.

Kay kept on walking... Maybe it had been an animal. She tried to push it to the back of her mind, but there was something slightly unnerving about the unknown for her.
That night, she was laying down on the bed, but her head was in the ceiling.
Was it really an animal? It sounded... human. Nah. Was just some fox or cat or summin.
The large brunette tossed over, but her muscles were twitching annoyingly. It was bothering her. Like that test she got that answer wrong on. Was it the teacher's error? Hers?
Kay's brain doesn't fault. It just doesn't happen.
"So it musta been a fox," She muttered into her pillow. It took her about another hour, but by concentrating on absolutely nothing, she managed to drift into a light sleep.
----
In the morning, Kay was drenched in a cold sweat. She had to know. She would analyse animal shit samples if it meant she could find out. She lunged on her ruck sack after throwing on yesterday's clothes and dashed out of the dorm room, almost running down Pinky, who screeched obnoxiously. Kay took no notice. There was time before classes. She slid her goggles on her head, her hair becoming tangled in the elastic.
When she got back to the observatory, she stopped, peering into the woods. Kay was tall. She didn't see the tiny figure, curled and shivering at her feet until the haggered, laboured breathing reached her ears.
"Whoa." She uttered, pushing her goggles up. She crouched down, reaching for the girl's arm.

No hope.
Lane curled as close to her new hiding spot as close as she could, clutching her jacket tight enough to run her knuckles white. She stared at her knees, bloody and filthy, and began to sob to herself.
I'm trapped. I'm going to die.
The loneliness and dread that gripped her from the moment she entered that forest. finally brought the teenager to uncontrollable tears.
--
Lane did not remember falling asleep, something that was starting to become a norm for her. The misery of her situation made it nearly impossible for her to tell between her nightmares and reality.
Whether it was her paranoia, or a twisted turn of events in her dream, Lane felt she needed to wake up. It took an immense effort for her to get her eyes open, and several attempts before her eyes would adjust to morning rays.
The light looked so much different outside those trees.
Then she felt the brush of fingertips against her arm.
No.
The light.
He'd found her!
"NOOO!!" She screeched. Her dark eyes became wide with fright. Her hands gripped along her rough support to push herself as far away from the stranger as possible.

“Whoa, whoa!" Kay cried. She looked over her shoulder quickly. "I'm seriously NOT going to hurt you."
"I... I thought you were someone else," The girl drew into herself, as if sheilding herself from a strong wind, but the grounds of Bullworth were still.
"Why are you asleep on the ground? What's going on? Are you hurt? Do you want me to call the cops?"
"NO-" She half yelled, extending a hand. "No... No, it's okay."
"Okay then... But why ARE you here. Do you need help?" Kayqueried again. She knelt down beside her.

The small girl looked around nervously, eyes darting to and fro. Was she safe here?
What to do... She licked her lips, mind racing on what to tell the tough looking girl.
"I-..." She whispered, "I'm being chased. By... someone who wants to hurt me." Her eyes stayed focused on the ground. Her tense posture and avoidance clearly gave away that there was much more to this situation.
Then she looked up towards Kay, eyes wide, "I just-I.. I just need your help for a moment. I don't want you involved!" Her words clambered into each other.
Kay ran her fingers through her hair.
Shit. This was bad.

She's so small and vulnerable. But how the hell am i supposed to help without being involved.
Helping was a no-brainer. People were skeptical about Kay's motivations for helping people. She was heroic. People would laugh and say it was too much GnG... Kay wasn't sure of her motivation, but she felt compelled nonetheless. Besides, she was a freakin' Orc in GnG...
"I'll help you," She replied. "You just tell me what i can do for you,"
Whatthe fuck are you getting into Kay? This could be like... a mass murderer type of thing? Or some kind of alien abduction?

"... Thank you." For some reason, Lane felt compelled to believe that the large girl was just going to bolt and leave her to the wolves; or maybe ven alert the police. It all had happened so fast, the poor girl had no idea what she would tell any adults who asked. It was something that haunted her dreams.
Where's your friend?
I don't know.
Does your brother know about this?
I don't know.
What would Will say? Would he turn in his only remaining blood relative to save himself? No.. maybe?
She didn't know. He wasn't her brother anymore.
How she missed him.
"Please, ma'am, I just... I just need to get cleaned up." A bath and clothes that weren't tattered. Maybe then she could get her thoughts together. For the first time in several days, Lane felt optimistic. She cradled herself with the idea that this was it. She was going to have some wonderful idea and solve this mess.
Denial was her forte.

Kay breathed out through her nose.
She's in trouble.
"Okay." Kay nodded. The girl stood, her legs slightly shaking. Kay's sharp, eagle eyesight swept over her appearance. Streaks of dirt below her eyes where tears had run fresh. Torn, tattered clothing. Malnutrition.
"What we can do is go back to my Dorm. It's not idea, but everyone is at class just now and I'll keep a lookout and guard the door if you wanna get washed and changed..." Kay paused, beginning to walk towards the school. "I could steal some chick's clothes for ya, i guess,"
They walked silently after this, the small, fragile girl unwilling or unable to speak. Kay's mind flicked through a host of possibilities. She felt immediately wary that this could lead to herself being maimed or something...
God, not a head injury. Not my beautiful brain...
She decided to try and scope out the situation a little better. She needed information.
"What's your name, girl?"

For a moment longer, the only response was silence. Lane quickly tried to decide if a false name would be better, but eventually dismissed the thought. She didn't look like a psycho that murdered people with shovels.
"Lane. I'm not from around here." It felt like a necessary thing to say.
She was so hungry... Now that she was given a chance to calm down and think, it felt like every tiny cell in her body was screaming for attention. She wanted to go home.
She wanted to crawl into bed and snuggle up with her stuffed animals. She wanted Will to smile at her, because she was his sister and nothing could harm her. They would laugh at all of the children staring in the shop windows at the latest fashions. How silly they looked! They would gather all of their books and a few blankets, and go "camping" in the woods. Until Lane complained that she was hungry, and Will would frown, take her hand, and lead her back home. He always knew how to get back.
And he could always reach the cookies on the top shelf; the ones filled with peanut butter chunks that would get her teeth stuck together. Then they would move their camping expeditions to the basement. Their mother would complain because now everything was covered in dirt, but Daddy would just laugh and say, "This just means they're growing up well!"
Will would always scare the maids with some new spider he'd found. When he and Lane had asked Mother for a pet snake, she nearly fainted. Daddy thought it was funny. He eventually convinced Will it would be a bad idea, since he would have to feed it all of the spiders. Will didn't like that idea at all.
Lane didn't speak as Kay helped her up and down the various stairs around school. She never stopped frowning as Kay kept a look out for nosey prefects that might impede their progress.

As Kay predicted, the dorms were very nearly empty. With some easy slipping past Angie NG who was sick in bed, Kay slipped the lost girl into the shower room.
"I'll quickly get you some clothes. There's a mop in there you can jam the door with..."
Lane nodded mutely. She was mournful, diminutive and defeated looking. Kay pitied her, but she had to admit, this whole situation was freaking her out. Girl lost in the woods by herself?
When she'd retired into the bathroom, Kay slipped down the hall again and into the laundry room. She didn't really care whos clothes she'd take. Like anyone would know she'd taken them.
She stole basic underwear, skirt, blouse and socks.
What's going on?
Kay scooted back up the hallway towards the shower room. She gently knocked on the door, so not to alert anyone's unwanted attention.

Lane glanced cautiously around the the girls' bathroom. There were so many corners for people to hide behind, it left her on edge. As silently as she could manage, Lane crept around the room; she already had one person involved, she didn't need another. Eventually, after convincing herself she was alone and safe, she found the mop Kay had mentioned and lodged it under the door handle as tight as she could.
Much to her surprise, the act of creating a physical defense between herself and world brought Lane a sense of great relief.
As much as she wanted to, the unlucky girl fought back her tears. She decided she had spent enough time crying. This new friend wasn't going to be around for long, moments like these needed to be cherished.
(( Sorry, no titty details for you. ))
The warm water flowing down her face was such a welcome comfort, Lane almost couldn't compel herself to leave. Time was of the essence however, she didn't have time relax.
It took moment of scampering around the bathroom naked to find the towels(silly girl), and still more moments were wasted staring in the blurry mirror. She missed her headband.
Eventually, the light knock dragged her from her solitude, and Lane padded towards the door. A few tugs to remove the mop, and the small girl carefully slid the door open.

A girl in nothing but a towel? Not a stir in Kay Adam's countenance.
God, it's only biology. She would inwardly sigh when boys flushed and smirked around naked girls.
Dead-pan Adams.
Although her face has something about it.
Kay handed her the clothes.
"I'll wait while you get ready," She told her. Kay turned her back and stood like a bodyguard outside the door while Lane closed it quietly again.
She thought about Lane's now clean, pale, pale little face... although everyone had a little face to Kay. Kay just had a big face. To go with the rest of her big self.
There's something. There's something not right.
Kay didn't want to leave the vulnerable girl. Something was dreadfully off, and Kay could feel it as soon as she thought of the whole situation from someone else's perspective.
Skinny, underfed girl in the woods, scratched up and dirty. Crying.
Underfed.
Kay decided that she'd feed her. She couldn't let Lane go off on her own without food... and it didn't look like she had any money on her. Yep, that was it. She'd take her to an eatery. Maybe squeeze her a bit for what was going on.
Lane appeared at the door again, the clothing hanging from her skinny frame.
"You look hungry," Kay said immediately. I don't think you should head off till you've had something to eat," She tried her best authoritative voice...

Lane looked slightly taken aback. She figured by now she had overstayed her welcome.
"I don-"
"It's on me."
Once again, no room for response. Of course, Lane couldn't argue all that much. She was terribly hungry, and couldn't recall the last time she ate, it would certainly do her some good to eat before taking off again...
"Yes, ma'am."
Her dark hair fell over her face as she nodded, and there was a look of slight annoyance as she tried to brush it back from her face once more.
Kay sighed in relief. The mystery girl didn't seem like one to put up a fight.
Then what was she running for..?
A good question, but one that required more privacy than any section of Bullworth could offer.
